Since trudere means \"to thrust\" in Latin, protrude means basically \"to thrust forward\". If your neighbors' patio protrudes over your property boundary, you may want to discuss it with them. A protruding disc in your spine may have to be operated on sooner or later; superficial protrusions, such as corns or bunions, tend to be less serious than more deeply rooted ones.
1610s, \"to thrust forward or onward, to drive along;\" 1640s, \"to cause to stick out,\" from Latin protrudere \"thrust forward; push out,\" from pro \"forward\" (see pro-) + trudere \"to thrust, push\" (from PIE *treud- \"to press, push, squeeze;\" see threat). Intransitive meaning \"jut out, bulge forth\" recorded from 1620s. Related: Protruded; protruding.
\"action of protruding; state of sticking out,\" 1640s, from French protrusion, noun of action from past-participle stem of Latin protrudere \"to push out\" (see protrude), or else a similar formation in English. Meaning \"that which stands out beyond something adjacent\" is by 1704.
A hernia occurs when an organ protrudes through the wall of muscle that encircles it. There are several different types of hernias that can occur in the abdominal and surrounding areas. These include umbilical hernias, epigastric hernias, incisional hernias, and others. For more information on these specific types of hernias, including symptoms and treatment methods, see below.
Prognathism is when your jaw protrudes, or juts out. This typically involves your lower jaw. Prognathism is a congenital condition. This means that people are born with it. But while symptoms may be present at birth, they can also emerge later in life due to dental injuries (such as blunt force trauma to your mouth) or childhood habits (like thumb sucking).
There are some building codes that stipulate that there must be at least one thread protruding through the nut. However it is common practice to specify that at least one thread pitch must protrude across a range of industries. Typically the first few pitches of the thread can be only partially formed because of a chamfer etc. For example, the standard BS EN ISO 4014 (hexagon head bolts - product grades A and B) states that the last two threads on the end of a bolt may be incomplete.
The inability to completely protrude the penis is called phimosis. The inability to completely retract the penis, alternatively, is called paraphimosis. The causes of each of these conditions can vary, and veterinary intervention may be required if the problem persists. These conditions may be more likely in small dogs, though it can be seen in all breed types. While this can occur at any age, it typically occurs in dogs that are younger than 1 year of age. Paraphimosis usually occurs after the dog has an erection, when the skin at the preputial orifice (the space between the prepuce and glans penis) becomes inverted and traps the penis, keeping it from retracting.
Phimosis (the inability to protrude the penis) and paraphimosis (the inability to retract the penis) are conditions sometimes seen in male dogs. Symptoms may include licking of the penis (due to discomfort), trouble when trying to copulate, trouble urinating, and swelling around the penis.
Although many people have hemorrhoids, not all experience symptoms. Internal hemorrhoids may cause bright red blood in the toilet bowl, a feeling of fullness or discomfort, or mucus discharge. They also can protrude, or pop out, with a bowel movement; usually, they return to the inside by themselves.

Unknown said:As you can see also in the Help, the Protrusion tool works in the following way: \"Used to construct a protrusion on a parametric solid ...\" It means that you can use the parametric cell to protrude a surface, NOT a solid
In the minimal working example below, I first show that character protrusion works for both opening and closing quotation marks outside of the bibliography. In the bibliography I have then constructed two references that both have their titles begin on the second line. Opening quotation marks as expected protrude into the left margin, but protrusion does not seem to work for the closing quotation marks. The only difference in the titles is how many i's that I have added to the word \"into\". 781b155fdc
